Should i get any of these if yes what else would i need if not could you help me find a suitable set. preferably with a bag thanks if not could you find me a bag as well which isn't dear. Full points for best answer

Steve is definitely on the right path here. Keep it simple. Buying a pre-packaged set is the right way to go. As long as it has irons, woods, a putter you're good to go. You also won't get very far without tees and balls. Everything else you can fill in as you go. The golf world certainly isn't lacking when it comes to trinkets and gadgets, so be wary and start simple.

What you'll find is one of two things. One, golf isn't for you, and if this is the case you don't want to sink a lot of money into it. Or two, the golf bug will bite you and the next thing you know your watching the golf channel 24/7 and buying every novelty under the sun.

Regardless of your general athletic ability, Steve's recommendation for lessons is also a good one. I prefer to point beginners towards a group golf clinic. They're cheaper and cover a lot of basics. Private lessons are more for people trying to fix their swing. Money spent on learning the basics of the golf swing is infinitely better than the next Callaway, Nike, or TaylorMade driver.
