Any of you Golfers know how much i should spend on clubs?
Basically, my father is becoming extremley stressed out from work. The other day, he thought he was having a heart attack due to so much stress.
So, today in the newpaper, i saw this Ad for these Golf Clubs that were $350.00 normally, but are on sale for $ 100.00 at big 5! my dad has often told me that he would like to try out golfing sometime. the only thing is, im only 16, and have never been golfing in my life. Is this a good deal?
heres what the Ad says
" features a graphite shafted 400cc Driver; 7 Deep cavity, Perimeter weighted irons with speed synchronized steel shafts; plus lightweight bag stand, with 3 oversized titanium marix metal woods"
i dont know what any of that means, so if you could help me out, that'd be great. im trying to relieve some of the stress my father is getting from so much work, and im only 16, so i dont know anything about golf.
thanks!
Jorge, your'e a good kid to think of helping your old man instead of the other way around. My answer is fairly simple, don't get me wrong but if the features of the clubs are all greek to you then the clubs you use does't really matter, eh?. As long as the clubs are current issue, i.e. not wooden clubs, your cool. Ya know why I started smackin' golf balls? That's right, stress relief. I started out buyin' three clubs at the local second hand sports shop, yeah that's right, three clubs! A driver, a nine iron, an a putter. Later on after gettin into it I bought a $100 Wally world special set. Still use that set but I swear sometimes I just bring 3 clubs to the course, no bag, no cart, no glove, just those three clubs. An you know what? when I do, theres no tension, like a kid at a swimmin' hole, ya know? Yeah, if you can get a $350 set of clubs for $100 it's a great buy, but for what we do? you can get a few clubs cheap at the local second hand store, use the money saved for balls and range fees, an your old man won't stress that you spent so much money tryin' to lighten up his day. These are just a few thoughts from an old man with way too much stress in his daily life.
The A Frame is a revolutionary lightweight golf bag
